Recipe Review 1

I chose arroz y leche pudin, or rice and milk pudding. I didn't have a chance to make it. It sounds delicious. It has white rice, water a cinnamon stick, grated lemon peel, salt milk, vanilla and cinnamon. The cinnamon with the rice is the best part. It is eaten on rare occasions in Nicaragua. It is a special treat. Rice pudding is eaten in most parts of latin america. THis is a great dessert.

They have beautiful beaches and beautiful spanish style houses. The size of the country is about the size of New York. It is pretty small! Nicaragua is the biggest country in Central America. It also has the biggest lake in Central America, Lago de Nicaragua. They have sharks like white sharks which people snorkel with. They also have jaguars, sloths, anteaters, and exotic lizards. Nicaragua would be a great vacation spot.

Nicaragua-Un poco de todo

Here is a little bit of everything. In the 1940's, Baseball became the most popular sport in Nicaragua, and it still is! In the 1996 Olympics (held in Atlanta) the Nicaraguan baseball team came in 4th place. Nicaragua is about the size of Ireland, Portugal, or New York. Nicaragua is also home to Granada, which is the oldest city in Central America. Nicaragua may be small, but very interesting.

Nicaragua-Lugares Importantes

In Tola there is great surfing. There are about 6 foot waves at the smallest! Tola also has Leatherback Turtles, which are huge, and a ton of Green Sea Turtles. In Managua, the capitol, there are zip-lines over the jungle, and old spanish church ruins. San Juan del Sur is one of the most beautiful places in Nicaragua. Granada is one of the oldest cities in Nicaragua. Granada is famous for having been set ablaze by pirates. THese are just some of the few important places in Nicaragua.

Nicaragua-Comida

There are many delicious foods in Nicaragua. One is called Nacatamal. It is a dough full of chicken, pork, chile peppers, rice, potatoes, onions, and tomatoes. It is then wrapped in plaintain leaves and tied with string. It kind of looks like a tiny pillow (above). P.S. You don't eat the leaves. Another food is Rosquillas. It is an appetizer served in Madriz. It is corn dough combined with cheese, egg, butter, and lard. You bake them until they toast.
There are many good foods in Nicaragua.

There are more tasty meals in Nicaragua. One of them is called Gallo Pinto. It is considered a national symbol. Nicaraguans eat this on a regular basis. It is like a sandwich for them. It consists of a mixture of fried rice with onions, sweet pepper, and red beans boiled with garlic. They are mixed and fried all together after that. This is one of the most famous dishes in Nicaragua. If you ever go there, you have to try some.

Nicaragua has a Republic Government. They have four branches of government. The Executive, which is the President and the Vice President. The Legislative, National Assembly. The Judicial, which is the Supreme Court, and The Electoral, which is the Supreme Electoral Council. The President of Nicaragua is Daniel Ortega. This is his second term as president.
